In a new interview with Bild.de, Bill and Tom admit that when they were 13 they had already engaged in hardcore drinking, smoking pot, and taking pills. They got it all from older friends. But, here’s the good news! Bill said that they’ve stopped all of that now, and only drink when they go out to parties. Check out the translation below.

That is no rolemodel character. The Tokio Hotel twins confess: “It has happened that we, out of boredom, drank, smoked pot and took pills”, says guitarplayer Tom Kaulitz in a double interview with his brother Bill.

In the magazine Gala, the 2 20year olds said: “we have also done some experimenting, and started pretty young with that”. Already when they were 13 both Magdeburgers received drugs and alcohol through older friends.

Singer Bill says that these experiences are in the past. “right now that is over”! His brother Tom describes the situation: “We only go out to party very seldom , but when we do, we really party!

That statements like these are not a good example to younger/ underage fans do not impress the twins. They don’t have a particular target group: “Tokio Hotel can be heard by a 15 year old just as well as by their 40 year old mom.”

And also in the case of Love Tom does not take things seriously: “I do not want to commit and have as much fun as possible..”

    i think its totally ok!
    LMFAO @ gabyGORE i LOVE them MORE too i think its totally cool now u know they r fun to hang with and i totally agree with ppl above saying they prob havent quit maybe drugs but pot is not bad at all

    I Iove how whoever wrote this interview makes it seem like this concept of experimenting with shit at a young age is unheard of. -_-
    Seriously? Come on I hear crap like this everyday.

    And I honestly don’t know if I believe they don’t do things like that anymore. I mean last year Tom said they were all non smokers and not even 3 months later there’s a pic of Bill with a cig in his mouth
    People will believe any BS they hear cause it came from Bill and Tom’s mouths.
    I’ll believe it when I see it.

    thats kinda sad to hear since bill once said when he was 15ish that he will NEVER do drugs. >.>
    but i think its kinda understandable, i mean almost every teenager has or will experiment with drugs. i havent and dont intend on because manyyy of my friends smoke pot and overdose and all that crap and its pretty sad to see them like that, because theyre the ones who are always high and im the one whos always not. so yea seeing them make a fool of themselves is enough to keep me from drugs.
    but as long as they have stopped, and i hope that they stay clean for good. even though that was 7 years ago.
    but it doesnt really faze me or anything much. it kinda makes me believe they are MORE human and normal than we all thought. :)

    omg who cares.
    everyones tried drinking and smoking at one point of their life. no more matter how many times little kids will be taught not to do that.
    i`ve done all that stuff before too & i`ve never been hooked onto it.
    and obviously neither have they
    they experimented
    bill and tom are humans just like everyone else
    they`re not here to be role models,
    they`re here to be musicians.

    why does everyone think doing drugs and alcohol is ok at a young age??
    i have nothing against the twins but to say that you are not ‘NORMAL’ if you havent done those things at an early age is just sad. they are lucky they had the sense to stop.
    it stuffs up peoples lives.
    at this rate, people wont mind when 10 y/o start doing these things.

    It’s kinda sad how they started at a really early age. But then again, it’s not that big a surprise. I mean, I don’t experiment, have never once tried to do so, and will never do it but I guess I can kinda understand. I think they did it because of peer pressure, since they got it from friends. Plus, they were going through a tough time. In their defense though, I would like to point out that there’s nothing hypocritical about this… I know things about the twins and the fact that they have NEVER EVER claimed to be rolemodels for the youth is one of them.

    people make mistakes as long as they know what they did was wrong and dont do it anymore i still look up to them.
