Hunger Strike Creator Clarifies Intentions

If you haven’t yet read my post about the hunger strike, you should do so before reading this.
Libby, the girl who began the hunger strike, sent me an email today clarifying what exactly what the hunger strike was and why she’d begun it. In her email she basically says it was all a joke between her and her friend. She created a banner and they decided it to spread the message. She says she never told anyone to starve themselves, nor did anyone ask her any questions. She left them to their own assumptions.
Libby also tells me about another joke between herself and that same friend, but this time on the subject of drugs. Her friend decided to start telling people she made pure cocaine in the jungles of Brazil, and they said that Bill is continually overdosing and that eventually he’ll die.
She concludes that this whole event is a major misunderstanding and that they never intended for anyone to start starving themselves, or believe that Bill is overdosing on cocaine. What do I think? This is completely irresponsible and inconsiderate.
I don’t think their drug joke carries as much potential pain as their fake hunger strike, because it’s so hard to believe. The hunger strike is the worst.
Yes, she never told anyone to starve themselves, but she also didn’t say not to. By simply posting a poster that says they’re going on a hunger strike so Bill will gain weight, without giving any other information, could only lead people to believe they’re being truthful and that they should participate. I think this is simply a case of two irresponsible fans who were joking between each other, but didn’t think of the possible consequences of their actions.
Shame on them, but things like this are to be occasionally expected. Either way, I still don’t believe Bill is anorexic and neither should any of you.

this whole thing started when my friend was eating breakfast and thought o we should do a hunger strike for bill. it was supposed to be a joke. i made a banner and said spread it and thats all i did. me and her NEVER told these kids to literaly starve themselves. no one came up to me and asked me what it was about they all made ther own assumptioins and left me in the dark. i had to idea it had gotten this bad. with the drugs thing that has been a joke for a long long time. just between friends but one day we wanted to see how far we could take it. again as a joke i mean come on. she was claiming she made pure cocaine in the jungles of brazil. dont u think that sounds a lil stupid. so we said that he kept overdosing cause pure cocaine would kill him. it was rather ridiculous but again nobody confronted us about it i thought i had straightend it out with a few peoople. but they just ended up putting words in my mouth. so as u see this was all a huge misunderstanding. me and her never said a word about literaly starving yourself. or actualy accusing bill of being on cocaine. so please read this and post the truth. im scared to death the wrong person will see it and tell the guys about it. i could never live with myself if that happend i just couldnt. i love tokio hotel far too much

Wow, could you be any more disrespectful or thoughtless Libby? I don’t know this girl and i’m not trying to be rude or hotheaded, i’m not that type of person, all i’m saying is that it was really unexceptable. Alot of young girls might have or will in the future get a hold of this and take it to heart, you know once you put something on the internet it’s then copied by someone else, re-stated, permenante, never going to leave the cyber word is what i’m getting at.

That was really inconsiderate, I think jokes, especially ones as disrespectful as this should definitely be kept to yourself. You should really think of others, like who you might hurt or offend. Not just us but the boys too, I don’t think Bill would appreciate all this, and I know I don’t =/ I hope someone learned something out of all this though so that way it wouldn’t be completely pointless. <3

the internet makes anonymity easy. so easy, in fact, that these girls felt comfortable making the jokes and a vast majority of posters feel comfortable enough to bash someone they don’t know who also isn’t present to defend herself.

If it was a joke, why spread it? Things spread like wild fire on the internet. If it was a joke between her and her friend why did she spread it? Bill Kaulitz is not skinny, it is because he is wearing more fitting clothes. He is a dynamic and fashionable dresser. He has is own style, his own objectivity in creating his presence on stage and with his band. Bill Kaulitz is only twenty years old, girls/guys/fans give him a break, at this age we thin in and out of our structured body. Bill you ROCK.

No matter if she was joking or not, posting it was completely out of line. She did exactly what she’s trying to she didn’t; she told people to distribute it to others. Therefore telling them what they were doing and asking them to participate. Weather directly, intentionally or not, she should be held accountable for her actions.

I feel that this is her excuse to make amends for her action. I think she’s backtracking her words and previous actions to get herself out of trouble. The way she mentioned that she didn’t want Tokio Hotel to find out about this shows that she realized that her and her friends can get sued for defamation of character. If somehow this spread to their camp she would of been in legal trouble for starting a hunger strike and slandering bill. No one puts things on the internet as a joke between friends if they don’t want to see people reactions. She just didn’t like what she was hearing as people’s opinion of her actions. She definitely knew what she was doing by posting to the internet and she just is scared of the consequences that shall arise from her childish behavior.
…So the whole thing was a joke? Didn’t she ever bother to think about the consequences? What’s wrong with Bill’s weight? He’s tall and skinny, he should be fine. Honestly, this is very disrespectful. No one is laughing, so it’s not really a joke!
Bill, you are fine the way you are. It doesn’t matter if you’re a vegetarian or a pescatarian or whatever, as long as you get some descent food, then you’re fine.

Wow, I hate bringing up the past but this just sounds like everything they went through with those girls who called themselves “The Afghans on Tour” seriously you can not call yourself a fan when your spreading rumors about one of the members doing drugs, or putting other peoples lives at risk.
