Jena Lee to Open the 2010 Europe Tour?

20 Minutes has published a new article about Jena Lee, and at the end they say she may be opening for Tokio Hotel during their 2010 European tour. Jena Lee is a new French singer, so maybe she’ll only be opening during the France shows? Check out the article below, and her first single “J’aimerais tellement”.

What do you think of the single? What about the idea of Tokio Hotel having someone open at their concerts? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Of Chilean origin, Jena Lee was adopted by a French famille at age 9. She grew up at Oloron-Sainte-Marie, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques [south-western France].

Today this 22-year-old singer is taking over the French charts. Her first single, “J’aimerais tellement”, is still at the top of the sales charts in France after more than a month.

“I was surprise because there was a big pick-up by the radio stations”, said Jena Lee on the site Charts In France. “This made me happy that the public was there.”

The future for this friend of Sheryfa Luna [French R&B singer]? A tour near the end of 2010 and maybe some openings for Tokio Hotel.

Translation by me.

  1. Hmmm…..interesting.

  2. Hmmm R&B opening for pop/electro/rock? doesn’t make sense to me

  3. I dunno, I think it’d be cool :) I’m not a fan of R&B but I think it’d be cool for their show :D

  4. I like the song. “I say, why not?”

  5. pleasant, but a basically slow boring song . . . I was more interested in the art work & animation in the video which was nice.

  6. She’s not bad.

I always wondered why Tokio Hotel never had an opening act.

  7. well TH doenst need an opening act…..
besides sounds something she wants to happen…not like its gonna happen

  8. i liked the song even though i have no idea what was being said..but i agree with irene it seems like she (singer) is hoping that would happen…but to have her for the whole tour wouldnt make sense cause shes french (i know Th are german but their fans went out of their way to learn and understand the german song) and no one would understand.
but it would be cool (jealous that she gonna spend time with them LOL)
ani way we can only wait and see what happens…and then support THs decisions :D

  9. @D – I agree. There wasn’t really anything special about her song. Having her as an opening act would not pull me into their concert.

  10. Meh, I don’t care/mind if she opens for them. I’ve no interest in her, but if it’ll benefit her own later career, I guess that’s okay.

  11. i like her voice it’s a very interesting mix of hip-hop and rock, mixed with french lyrics.

  12. This should be interesting!.

  13. I dont’ think the boys need an opening act. I’m going to the concets to see them, you know? Not an opening act. Waste of time.
No offense to her, the song was okay.

  14. Personally I THINK IT WOULD BE GREAT =) She seems good, Thanks for a new artist to get into lol, she seems pretty to and catchy I think it would work she probably trying to get famous as well, let her go Tokio Hotel will always be number one though always, she might be on the USA tour as well just a thought, maybe she wants TH to bring her here.

  15. God… opening acts at concerts always suck… It takes the opener 30 minutes to get on stage… then you wait another hour waiting for the main act. Plus, they’re no fun cause you have no idea who they are and you don’t know the words to their songs. They’re so boring.

  16. Eugh j’aime pas Jena Lee, et cette chanson et bien plus que boring!
    They really DON’T need an opening act and definitely not her. -.-;

  17. hmm…do you think Tom likes the idea since he likes that kind of music?

i wouldnt want to listen to someone i dont know and waiting even longer for Tokio Hotel.
but idk maybe the French will like her as an opener.

  18. Nah, I dont think she should
More like nobody shouyld cos theynever had openings so they shouldnt start now
    Just my thoughts

  19. Their styles are too different, I’m not sure how that would work…

  20. or I just thought of something maybe she might be like Blog27 I miss them actually lol I have no clue what on earth happen to them, they where a open act for Tokio Hotel in the first start in like 2005, 06 somewhere around there and they where from Poland but now they died out and it’s been to quiet

so she might not last long but again she might, and Tom might like her =)
    she is cute.

This is the band that open for TH at the start.

lol to some, But they are older now like 16 but the thing is they did not last long, i have one CD from them.

  21. More information about B27 so you wont get confuessed.

    1. Tola is the black hair girl, Ala is the blond.
    2. They are NOT SISTERS they where mistaken for that because how they where close.

    3. They both where born on November 27th that’s where the 27th came in.
    4. Ala left the band unknown reason.
    5. Tola went single, and new album but only did two music vids and than poof it’s been quiet nothing new for ages.

  22. The only group that I feel would be a good opener(and I’m no expert) is Aloha From Hell. Not because they are also German but I’m pretty impressed by them. They are young, and they write, sing, and perform very well. What do you guys think??

  23. Jena Lee has a very nice voice, but I don’t think she would make a good opening act for Tokio Hotel.
They just don’t need an opening act, it may benefit her career but what’s it doing for them?
I just don’t think people would pay the money to have to wait even longer to see Tokio Hotel then they already have especially because no one would even understand what she was saying, people took the time to learn German to understand Tokio Hotel, not French to understand someone they don’t even know.

  24. lol she looks like she could be tom’s buddy
both dressin ganssta and all :P
    but otherwise nothing special =S

  25. It could be that she’ll only do French shows.

The last concert TH had in my country, they had two Dutch bands in the opening act but those bands were only in Holland, so it could be that they just have a diffrent act in every country.

Really, waiting for TH while listening to a band who nobody wants on the stage sucks so freaking bad!

  26. Jena is the hottest thing in France right now. and from what I’ve read on twitter from euro fans. French tickets for the Humanoid tour are selling very slowly. So far, not one venue has sold out. That’s very bad.

So, I’d like to think that Jena may be added as opening acto for french shows in a way to boost ticket sales.

  27. that would be an interesting concert and i actually like her song.

  28. Well, honestly I’m not crazy about that kind of music or her voice, although it’s nice. I personally don’t care for opening acts, since I think they’re a waste of time, but if the situation that Ray*Ray said above is true, then I believe that it is necessary.

  29. I’m French and this girl just sucks.
Her music and lyrics are so depressing.
The only good thing is that sh’es fan of Manga and her vid ( she created the storyborad+ drawings herself) is technically amazing

  30. i wonder why th never had opening act.

  31. I was actually thinking more that an opening act needs the headliner, not the other way around that TH needs an opening act. Usually a band will choose a new artist that they want to promote. But now I see that most of you would rather not see an opening act =P I don’t mind them. Sometimes they get famous later then it’s fun when you can say “Hey, I saw them when they were nobodys…”

  32. TH did have an opening act. Last year, BOA? Remember? (;

And, to be honest, her music is boring >.> Dunno why she’s chart-topping. But it’s up to TH if she opens for them. Whatever decision they make, I’m cool with.

To everyone else, don’t be a hater just ’cause you don’t want a girl near the boys. ^-^
