Stay Tuned… Changes Are Coming!

I think it’s time to provide you all with a little update concerning updates that are coming to Tokio Hotel Network! There are a lot of features in the works, and the rollout will begin soon. But until then, here’s some information on a few of them.

Style Blog. The first new feature to be added to Tokio Hotel Network will be our upcoming style blog to be opened later this week or early next week! The blog will document Tokio Hotel’s fashion choices past and present, where you can buy the clothes they wear and possibly where you can find cheaper alternatives. We think you’ll all really love this new addition, and every Saturday we’ll have a fashion feature posted on the main Tokio Hotel Network news blog (the one you’re currently reading).

Forum. A new forum was planned to be opened by the end of October using the bbPress forum system, and to be integrated with the main news blog. Over the weekend I was browsing other forum websites and realized that another forum system, vBulletin, had just undergone a massive upgrade to version 4.0. After this discovery we decided to stop working on the bbPress forum and to instead use vBulletin for our new forum.

Our decision means that the forum will be delayed until at least mid-November, but we’ll also get a lot more forum features to take advantage of. Believe me, the extra few weeks of waiting will be worth it!

Tour Blog. As most of you have already seen, Tokio Hotel will begin touring again at the end of February 2010. Instead of just covering this alongside all the rest of the news, we’ll be making a separate blog to give you all the information you need about the tour! You’ll find all the important news leading up the first date, as well as pictures, videos and stories from the fans that attended each show. More information will be available soon!

Facebook Page. Since the website first opened we’ve had a group on Facebook for all the fans that visit Tokio Hotel Network. Beginning sometime next month we’ll be opening a new Facebook Page to promote more discussion among users, as well as to provide more features that aren’t available on Facebook groups. We hope you’ll all join!

Toolbar Update. Another feature that has been apart of Tokio Hotel Network since the beginning has been our toolbar, but unfortunately it as been very much ignored. Sometime during the next month a few new features will be added to the toolbar and we hope you’ll all download it for your browser.

    Hey, HBD dude. lol

    I dunno if anything can be done about this, but I guess it’s worth drawing attention to anyway. I sometimes come on this site using my iPod Touch but it doesn’t work as well as when I use my computer. Most of the time, it’s hard to click on things (other than the little comments buttons on the earliest articles on the main page, but everything else doesn’t work) and this weird text appears at the side of the website and continues right down to the bottom (I can’t see all of it, but some of it says “Allow: /news?btaid= Disallow: /news?btaid=… # a or something..? Some of the dark parts of the layout are making it so I can’t read all the text). Again, I’m not sure if you would know how to fix this or if making a mobile friendly site is even an option really. lol But I thought you might wanna know.

    OH also, my iPod doesn’t like the thingie at the bottom that says who’s online and stuff. ^^; It makes it float in random places.. Does the same thing with the chat feature thingie on facebook. >_<

    With regards to the Facebook page, will it be linked to the Tokio Hotel facebook page? Facebook kinda confuses me with all the features and stuff you can join and throw at other people, so don’t make it too complicated or give an instruction section when it’s up.

    Other than that, maybe a link to just interviews, organized by date and/or provide a list of interview videos with translations. That’s a big request though – a lot of other sites have never completed there sections on that.

    If you’re exploring color changes, a darker background would be so much better on the eyes. One of the reason I love the Tokio Hotel official sites if for the dark screens

    Anyways, I’m excited for the Style Blog and Tour Blog and the Toolbar update thing sounds kinda interesting as well. Who came up with the idea for the style and tour blogs? It’s brilliant, can’t wait!

    first off this site is AMAZING!! i check it everyday so thanks for keeping me updated marc! :)

    and all these things sound really awesome! my favorite would defiantly be the style blog! thats gonna suck a lot of money outta my pocket but ohh well lol! but the tour blog is great too! itll b good to know how things work before they come to the US. we’ll b prepared ;)
