US Tour at the End of 2010: Musiqtone Interview
In a new interview with Musiqtone, the boys are asked about Humanoid, the music industry, the upcoming tour, and more! They say that not buying music is killing the arts and artists, especially newcomers. If you haven’t bought Humanoid yet, maybe you should, or ask for it for Christmas! Aside from that, they also said they hope to be back to the United States for concerts near the end of 2010. Check out the full interview below.
Alex Zawada: You just won an award for Best Group at the EMAs beating out Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, Kings of Leon, and the Jonas Brothers; how does it feel knowing you beat out such well known bands?
Bill: It feels great and we were very honoured to even be nominated with those bands! We admire and respect them so much and winning that category is unbelievable. Thanks to our fans again… you are the best!AZ: I know you are very well known in Europe, but how does it feel knowing the United States supports you just as much?
Tom: We are thrilled. I mean being a young band from Germany and getting the chance to even release records in the States feels like a dream come true. Back when we were thirteen we just wanted to be discovered and look where we are now. I mean this is still only the beginning for us in the US but it’s already absolutely crazy.
Bill: So far we had an amazing time on our US trips and we hope to come back very soon in 2010.AZ: Fans have been wondering why there is such a great difference between translations for the lyrics of the songs on the Humanoid album?
Bill: Well, you have to see them as two different versions. It’s not a one to one translation. But in general they have the same feeling and meaning. This time we wrote in English and in German at the same time.AZ: What is your favourite song on the new album?
Tom. When working on an album that long and so intensely, it is hard to pick a favourite song. I really like all of them. AUTOMATIC, NOISE and our next single WORLD BEHIND MY WALL are my faves at the moment, but that might change next week..;-)
Bill: This is such a tough question, it’s like asking someone which of their own kids they like best! At the moment I am really into PHANTOMRIDER and DOGS UNLEASHED.AZ: What’s your most embarrassing moment on stage?
Tom: It is more the time before we go on stage. We have huge stage fright, so nothing is worse than the minutes before going on stage. When we are up there everything is great.AZ: What inspired you to get into music?
Bill: Nobody or nothing in particular really inspired me. It just felt natural and I knew this is what I want to do for the rest of my life from the time I was about five years old.AZ: If you could collaborate with anyone who would it be?
All: STEVEN TYLER would be really cool…!AZ: If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would you change?
Bill: Make people understand that not paying for music is destroying the art and the artists – especially for the newcomers.AZ: What can fans expect from you in the next year?
Tom: We will be going on tour in 2010 and we are totally excited about that. Especially after such a long time in the studio it’s fantastic to go back on stage and meet all the fans.
Bill: We’ve prepared some wicked stuff for this tour so everyone can expect some surprises. Hopefully we will be in the US toward the end of 2010 for concerts.AZ: Do you have any advice for aspiring musicians?
Bill: Follow your heart and be determined. Don’t let anybody tell you what you can or can’t do.
Tom: And don’t follow any advice[laughs]
AZ: Is there something other than music that you might be interested in the future or is this something you want to do your whole lives?
Tom: No, not really – this band is our life and we hope to be doing this for a long time.
Bill: Exactly! Had this not worked out I have no clue what else I or we would have done – there is nothing else besides music that feels so perfect.AZ: Is there anything you’d like to tell your fans here at Musiqtone?
Bill: Yes, thanks so much for all your support. Without you we would not be here – see you in a town near you in 2010.

I would like to think that their management knows whats best for their careers.I am very surprised that it may be late 2010 but I’m a fan .I am disappointed that it may not be sooner but I would be really down if we weren’t going to 2 shows in Europe.Raise your voice TH fans!!
Onoez. How late is late? Argh. I must contain my apprehension! A road trip in December would suck, but I would totally do it for them.
And aha at the comparison of favorite song to favorite child. xD
Y late 2010? thats too far away. its a year. i thought they would already be on tour THIS year…but i guess not. ugghhh i guess we all have to wait…or mabye they will change the dates to like summer…idk
this is what happens when they’re famous all over the world. they owe europe a big tour first- they’ve been waiting longer since their last tour than the u.s. has.
Oh, no doubt, Leah. I personally don’t feel like they owe the US anything. I’m just really, REALLY antsy considering that I wasn’t a fan during their last US tour. xD But man, when “late 2010″ comes and goes, I’m going to be so disappointed. It will be AWESOME, but I miss the experiences I had at the Green Day, AFI, and Three Day’s Grace concerts years ago. I know it’ll be the same with TH. Sigh.
i know exactly what you mean!!! i wasn’t a fan of them when they came, but now i LOVE them(: but, they really don’t owe us anything. i mean, i always see girls from remote countries begging them to go there. i’m willing to wait. it’s totally worth it(:
I’d rather wait for them to come around and have the boys take their time and regroup emotionally and mentally from being all over the world, then see them how they were the end of last year looking broken, distant and emaciated. every one need down time with their friends <3
The boys need to recharge their batteries now for a while, and you all know it! Cause I’m so tired of Impatient fans right now.
I mean last year the boys ´were exhausted because of all the concerts and tours late last year(they were in the US, so don’t say you have had to wait for such a long time!)
And then they went straight into the studio to record for a year, were chased by Paparazzi and crazy stalkers! They could never be alone. And now they are tired because of one intensive year of producing a record. OUR BOYS REALLY NEED TO REST…SHOW SOME RESPECT FOR IT.
aii… i will try to con my mom so i can buy ur music ; )
uh why get sadd over this.. they are humans too.. they need to rest like everyone else.. if not moree..? i mean you can think its jus makin music , interviews, autographs and money.. but they do work hard and travel and do everythin even if they are not in the moood. so jus be paitent, 4 bodies cant be all over the place at oncee
and you know “saving the best for last”
=D
To everyone saying the US got concerts just last year… they were like 400 people capacity gigs… tickets were so impossible to get that most fans couldn’t even see their concerts here. So, it’s not the same as the fucking 20,000 people capacity stadiums they play in Europe where practically the whole damn city can get tickets to.
I swear the US tour was meant to be in Summer next year?
Well, at least they’re going there.
Here in the UK, we’ve waited since 2007 for them to come back. Ok, so i only became a fan after they did the concert in 2007 but oh well. I was hoping that they’d come back in late 2010, maybe after the US tour, but now that looks unlikely doesn’t it.
I don’t want it to seem like i’m moaning. Because to be honest, if i was living in the US, i’d feel the same about waiting that long.
I cannot wait for their tour to come to Montreal, they (TOKIO HOTEL) will be a hit here, they have alot of fans up here in Canada. TOKIO HOTEL is a tremendous outstanding stylish charismatic band to hit the new millennium. There songs are real, their sound is amazing and their fashion is outstanding. Hey guys cannot wait for your tour to hit our city. We Love You.
i hope they come tour in the summer aka when i have no school cus i`ll have so much work to do towards the end of next year ahhh =X
I’m not upset that they won’t be here sooner. oO Of course not. I think it’s honestly okay to be a little impatient and excited about something. It’s not like I’m going to throw a fit and demand they come here RIGHT NOW, goshdarnit! They can take their time. They can recuperate. I’m just a naturally antsy person, and it has no affect on how quickly they get to the US or not. It’s pretty inconsequential.
no! they should come to the u.s first! If they go to south america firts then i’m going!! i cant wait to see my babies!!
i can’t wait for the end of 2010 now (:
I don’t mean to whine but I was really hoping they would tour here end of summer/early fall. I am a retail manager and it will be hard for me to get time off to see them. The first and only time I have seen them I had to travel 2 states away!
What about Canada? And all the other countries? I understand that they can’t be everywhere at all times, but it seems like the U.S is always being mentioned and noticed first. Ugh this sucks..
@witchwolf: I agree, I’ll wait as long as it takes, just as long as I get to see them! And it’s actually better if it takes them longer to get here cuz that means I have more time to save up for those front row tix!!
I am like praying they come to Canada.. US gets everything
its not fair.. then again, we have free health care.. Tokio Hotel is better though
Yay Bill and I both favour Phantomrider xD
