“World Behind My Wall” Confirmed as EMA Performance

Earlier today the MTV EMAs tweeted about Tokio Hotel’s performance to tell fans they’d be performing “World Behind My Wall”. This comes as no surprise to me, and I hope to none of you either.

Aside from the fact that the song has recently been confirmed as the second Humanoid single, the song also seems to make some allusions to the Berlin Wall. I know some of you will debate that (as you’ve already done), but I’m positive there is some connection the Berlin Wall in “World Behind My Wall”/”Lass Uns Laufen”. The tweet is below!

Ready? The song Tokio Hotel is going to perform tomorrow is…’World Behind My Wall.’

    Kind of a surprise, I thought they would do Automatic/Automatisch, but I love World Behind My Wall, so its still going to be amazing!!
    I thought that they would sing in German cause they’re in Berlin, but then the program is going out to loads of English speaking people. And when they performed at some mtv awards show 2 years ago (was that the ema’s?) they performed in English.

    I would think they would definitely sing the English version if
    they are after the “Wall” reference since Lass Uns Laufen translates to Let us Run. But it would be cool if they did them back to back time permitting…….

    no connection with the wall! Bill was three months old when the wall cam down, it never affected his life. And living in GDR Magdeburg, even in 1989 would not have made his life any more difficult than it is now.

    also, i wonder if they’re going to try and top 2007? I remember that award show sooo well when it was the first time Bill SPOKE english to cameras and it was all very exciting and cure.
    Now him speaking english is just stupid.
    And it’s kinda guts that they’re singing shitty english -_-

    If I weren’t for their english songs you probably wouldn’t even have know them….

    Any way I’m soo happy their doing that song…
    I think their performance will be amazing

    Since its being shown in Canada on TV from what we know of.. I plan on watching it on the website so I can see it LIVE, then later Im watching it on Much at 7PM. xDDD
    I think both the English or German would be great.
    I’m gunna melt just SEEING them, nevermind HEARING them. <3333 :D

    God… how perfect is this? In Germany, 20 year anniversary of the wall coming down, singing World Behind My Wall, 4 boys from Eastern Germany, & the boy singing was born the same year the wall came down. Can it get any more coincidental? Katy Perry will be a bitch but you know TH will own the show. It’s totally their night to shine on their home turf.
